Obama is Making it Easier for Dads and Moms to Return to School

If you are like many moms and dads struggling in this depressed economy, you may be searching for a way to make more money. And if you are, then really your only options are to get another job and work longer hours or go back to school and receive training in a different field or get the degree so you can apply for that promotion. And with the available scholarships and grants available to moms and dads, going back to school is the smartest choice.

Nobody want to have to go back to school, especially when they are an adult, but it takes a lot of money to be able to live a comfortable life in these times and many who do not have a degree are unable to obtain jobs that pay much above minimum wage. And everyone knows that supporting a family on those wages is next to impossible.

So take advantage of the available grants and scholarships that you can apply for. The government gives out financial aid money to those who meet the income qualifications. This can be for the Pell grant, which is awarded in amounts from $100 to $5350 and the FSEOG, which is awarded in the amouint of $100 to $4000.

Plus the government also has other scholarshp grants that you may qualify to receive. There is the TEACH grant, for those entering the field of teaching, and the SMART grant, for those in science and math.

Plus, the government is also offering tax credits for education, which is like getting free money at tax time for those who return to school.

So put your fears aside when thinking about going back to school and possibly having to take out student loans. There are scholarships and grants for moms and dads that can help you pay for your education as long as you apply and meet the qualifications.

Best Five Nintendo DS HomeBrew Games For Your R4 DS Card

The Nintendo DS on its own is a fantastic gaming systems. But add an R4 ds card to the mix, and a whole slew of homebrew programmers, and you have a handheld console.

1. Warhawk DS – Classic Shooter

Warhawk DS is based on a much earlier game released on the C64 in 1986, and is more of a re-imagining than a remake. One thing that was intended to retain was the ‘old school’ feel to the game, and this is hopefully something has been achieved. Do you like old school style shoot em up games? Then that’s all I need to say about this one. It is truly an amazing and must have addition. The downside to keeping the feel is that those of you brought up on present day games may find this a little difficult? It is not an easy ride to clear the 16 levels, though a consession has been made for the modern-day gamer in the addition of continues.

2. Gbubies Planet

Glubies Planet is a mix between action and reflexion. The principle is simple, in each level a defined number of glubies must reach the exit. So you have to cross the level, find some objects and avoid the traps. The reflexion phase allows you to analyse the level, to drop and oriant objects et solve puzzles and enigmas. No time for thinking during the action phase,

3. GameUp – A Homebrew game updater.

While not a game in the full sense of the word, in any way. But Gameup deserves to be here on this list, simply because it allows you to find the best and most up to date Nintendo DS homebrew games online. So in essence, a must have for anyone that wants to grab the latest homebrew Nintendo DS game for their R4 DS.

4. Crack Attack

The best pc puzzle game now on the DS! Swap and flip blocks to match up their colors and make the disappear. One of my personal favorite games on the PC (and it was free and open source on the PC as well). If you’re into puzzle games, and don’t mind getting addicted to one, then Crack Attack is a must have for your R4 DS Card.

5. Marble DS

Marble is a complete remake of the classic wood labyrinth game, in full 3D (both screen) with realistic physics, mp3 music, on-DS visual level editor and more… What makes this game stand out is that it actually uses an add on for the Nintendo DS that supports full motion. Much like playing games on your iPod Touch, you simply move your DS around to aim and move the marble around as well. Not to mention is has a Skybox to simulate a full 360 degree envirnment and comes packed with 25 levels, with various environment and progressive difficulty.

Next week, I will cover some more of the best of the best of Nintendo DS homebrew games. Keep an eye out for the latest lists.
