BLINKED TV releases multi-media live-streaming mobile phone application – for journalists and publishers. 

BLINKED TV has developed the first fully integrated multi-media live-streaming mobile phone application for the emerging world of the real-time web.  

The technology is designed for journalists, bloggers and citizen reporters to collaborate and stream live video, audio or text to the web from their mobile phones.  Journalists can also add a single piece of code that will automatically display their live broadcasts on their own blog or web pages.” says Andrew Cadman from Blinked.TV. 

Ultimately, what the company want is to produce is the ideal platform for journalists operating in the digital age. Clearly the number of devices you can stream live to the Internet will continue to multiply, as will the number of content areas and online resources journalists wish to stream to. Therefore, the company really want to get digital journalists involved in the process of development and road testing now so that we can mould the application to their requirements. 

A unique feature of the application is that you can flip the camera 180 degrees while streaming – which is a great feature to have, if you happen to be a journalist conducting a live video interview. A lot of effort has been put into making the video compression as efficient as possible so that the streaming application will work even when using slow GPRS connection speeds. 

Dr Cadman feels that the configurable broadcast channel architecture of the application will also appeal to publishers who want an easily integrated white label multi-media live streaming solution.  “In addition, our technology is a great new tool for mobile advertising agencies that are promoting a pfantasy articular performer or brand as it allows the possibility of real-time interaction with fans and consumers. Now that we have developed this state-of-the fantasy art mobile live broadcasting technology we are keen to strike up global pfantasy artnerships with promoters, music agents and advertising agencies – people are increasingly looking for information and interaction in real-time and this is what our product is all about.” 

The Blinked.TV streaming application is currently available for Symbian S60 series 3 and 5 phones (e.g. Nokia E and N series mobile phones) and can be downloaded. An iPhone application will be available during early January 2010.
